Tonight as I was putting Flash to bed, he got a wet one and wiped his mouth. Then he looked at it and exclaimed, "My mussmash, Mommy?" I had to hold back laughter as I tried to interperet what he was talking about. After a few more "My mussmash!"-'s, I finally figured it out. Mustache! He was wiping off his mustache! Silly boy.
My best friend came over this evening and talked about nutrition and meals I should be eating, versus all the sugar I eat. Sigh. I've got a long way to go, not a lot of hours in the day, and just feel overwhelmed again. I really wish I didn't need sleep, so that I could get more done. I was able to get the house in perfect shape today, dinner made (a healthy one too), and the kiddos napped, but Flash and I didn't get to do his preschool work (activities we do together since he's not going to preschool this year). Hoping tomorrow after our walk we'll be able to get down to practicing some more letters, numbers, shapes and such. He's grasped the whole "matching/same" concept and has been running with it. He'll find something and go find the other one, whether it's his shoes or socks, crayon colors or marbles. He amazes me every day.
We went to the beach again today and had a blast. Flash and his friends brought sand toys to share, and boy do they know how to share SO WELL. These kiddos are growing up into such polite little people.
Oh, and the best part of my day? Watching Flash play peek-a-boo with Little Chef as well as "try" to give Little Chef back his binky during an "I'M TIRED, MOMMY!" crying session. He kept trying to move Little Chef's hands from his mouth as well as get the binky to stay, all while Little Chef cried more and more. Flash finally goes "ssshhhhh. no more crying (pronounced cryeeeennn)" Precious.

Zoo day . . . and some creative tidbits
Today we trekked all over our local zoo with my husband's best friend's wife and kiddos, as well as my sister-in-law and kiddos. Three mommies and 7 kiddos, 8 if you count the one in the belly (friend's, not mine, not yet anyways). Had a fabulous time walking around and having a lunch on the grass. The weather was a little much for my liking, especially afterwards. I have a nice sunburn, here on the first day of summer! It's ifne though, it'll be gone soon. I hope the rain comes back to Washington, since that's the norm around here, or at least gray skies. I like the sun, but don't like being so warm. Poor Logan took 2 hours to fall asleep, he was so hot in the room. It doesn't help that our rooms face the setting sun, and the sun is out longer in the day now! Hopefully he'll get used to it soon!

Procrastinating
Both boys aren't wanting to nap today, but I'm leaving them in their rooms to hopefully tire themselves out. I'm really wanting to take a nap myself, but I know I should clean up a little and start dinner for the hubby since he spent all day in Seattle, taking a training course for his job. He's got two more days to drive up there and take classes. Boring to me. I hope he drives safely. I despise driving in Seattle, or in any city, for that matter. Okay, so now that I've said it, I'm going to make it happen. Going to clean.
Oh, and a side note, I'm failing miserably at this new healthy eating/diet plan. Oh well. No one can be perfect, right? At least my sweet husband likes the extra soft-spots to hug. Bleh. Wish I could feel okay about myself. Maybe in a few weeks I'll have a better routine down.

One of my new interests in life . . .
Today I get to share with my sister-in-law my love for couponing! I started about three months ago and have saved about 50-60% on our shopping overall. Some trips are great, where I pay only sales tax. Some trips don't work out quite the way I planned, but you go with the flow. *If you would like to know more about couponing and how to make it work for your family, there's a TON of great websites to check out. My favorite two are: The Krazy Coupon Lady and Raining Hot Coupons. You can "friend" both on Facebook as well.*

the end is near . . .
Well, I did it. I emailed the group of women that belong to the group I organize, sharing with them that I think it's time for someone else to step in and manage the group. If no one steps up, then I'm going to close the group. It's frustrating to sit here on the computer, using time I could be cleaning or playing with my kids or cooking a nice meal for my family, to post walks and events that no one or just one person (out of 87 members) comes to! So, I'll wait. Wait and see who steps up. Wait and see if anyone steps up. Wait for the day when I can be done with leading this group. It'll be one less stress, one less time-consuming activity I have to deal with.
It was a great group, one that allowed me to meet some of my closest friends. The group where my son made his first friend. The group that helped each other out when going through chemo treatments, deployments, sick babies and just basic mommy-crap. I'll miss it if it closes, but at least I gained some wonderful memories and friends from it.

10 things . . . and other ramblings . . .
Here are just a few lists that you'll see me jot down as reminders of what I'm thankful for, what makes me smile, or what I need to work on. These three are about the three most important men in my life. Enjoy!
10 things I love about Little Chef (3 months):

3. He hates being alone, just like his big brother and his mommy.
4. His coos are more like shrieks and screams (he's loud like the rest of his family!).
5. His sloth-like toes, and the fact that my finger can pass through the space between his big toe and pointer toe (second toe?) without touching either
6. The way he instantly calms me down when I hold him, no matter the situation.
7. The crazy-coincidence of his birth happening during a snow and ice storm, just like his big brother.
8. His dark blue, beautiful eyes, and the pin-hole size dimple on the top of his right ear. My mom had one on each of her ears. It's just another part of my mom still being in my life.
9. The way he melts Daddy's heart when they are together snuggling.
10. His "lovey" is (most of the time) Mommy's fingers. He grabs my thumb and pinky, pulls my hand to his chest and instantly calms. His other "lovey" is a blue satin square mini-blanket with an elephant stuffed animal head in the middle. Named Ele of course. He likes the satin to be ON his face while he's trying to fall asleep (I go in and move it to his cheek once he's asleep).

1. His crazy dance skills! He's got some good ones, especially if Daddy's playing his techno music.
2. He's my firstborn, my redhead, my Lukie-Duke.
3. The excitement he gets when he realizes where we're driving to. "BEACH!" "TRAINS!" "GRAMMA'S HOUSE!" "COUSIN'S HOUSE" are just to name a few. Oh, and "DADDY CAR!"
4. The twinkle in his eye when he hears the key click in the front door, signaling that Daddy is home.
5. His sweet comments: "Oh, sure!" "Bless you!" "Oh wow! Look at that!" "I did it!"
6. The joy he gets when playing with his cousins (who are very close in age). Makes one of my life goals come true every time.
7. He was born when I was 25, allowing the family "tradition" (I think it was just coincidence that it happened like this) of having 25 years between my great-grandma, my grandpa (her son), my mom (his daughter), myself, and now Flash. I'll have to resist putting pressure on him to have a child when he's 25. :)
8. He LOVES to read books, all kinds of books, mostly about trains and dinosaurs and Cars (the movie).
9. The love he has for his little brother is amazing. He gets the biggest, most beautiful smile on his face when he sees Little Chef; the best is when Flash hears that Little Chef has hit a sound button on the exersaucer. He comes running, yelling, "Little Chef YAY! Little Chef did it, Mommy! Yay Little Chef!"
10. Routines are everything to him, no matter what it was, it MUST be done that same way EVERY time. My little OCD kid! :) He even got after a kid who came over for a play date for the first time. The kiddo was moving toys from one bin to another, mixing Lego pieces with blocks and so on. Flash quickly returned the toys to their rightful bins and told the kiddo, "No no. No do that, please." I love the fact that, one, I've made an impression on him to be neat (maybe a little too neat?), and two, that he was so polite about it! :)

8. The fact that he'll eat almost whatever I cook for meals (I'm not that good at cooking; baking is more my thing.), even vegetarian "chicken" patties and nuggets. What a trooper.
9. That he remembers things that I can't, including memories about my mom before she got sick. These I hold dear.
10. The way he kisses me. I love him so much. The fact that he still wants to kiss me blows me away every day. I'm a lucky lady indeed.

Hoping for a relaxing afternoon/evening spent with our wonderful husband/Daddy at the local park/zoo having free pizza (from last night's baseball game), kicking the soccer ball around and going on the 5 mile loop that's there. My house is almost clean, though I still haven't found my one purse that I've been desperately searching for. My friend made it for me. Inside is my nursing cover, and it's been MIA for over three weeks now! I can't find it anywhere, and we live in a two bedroom apartment! If you've seen it or have a suggested place that I may have left it, please let me know! :)

Father's Day
Happy Father's Day! I'm trying to change my tune from yesterday, and have already started sticking to two of my goals: #1 and #6. I used my time wisely this morning before work and cleaned the house, and when I came home, put things away the minute I walked in. Now the kiddos are napping and I'm about ready for one too. Looking forward to playing at the park later on this evening with my husband and kiddos, as well as a 5-mile walk together.

Goals
I'm a listmaker, so here's my list of goals that I'd like to be working towards (or NEED to):
1. Be more efficient with my time.
2. Fold laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer, and PUT IT away. The couch is no longer allowed to hold laundry.
3. Cook at least two healthy meals for my family each day. Try to lose weight this way, in conjunction with my exercise schedule.
4. Get my snacking and sugar addiction under control. *My best friend is going to help me set up lists of meals and snacks that are okay to eat.*
5. Read more with my children. I LOVE reading and want to instill that in them as much as I can.
6. Keep a neater home by picking up the clutter right away and getting rid of stuff we don't use/need. If it doesn't have a home, it needs to go.
7. Be kinder to my husband when he gets home from work. He's working extremely hard at his job, and I've put too much pressure on him when he comes home. Taking care of the above goals will help, as well as remembering to not hound him when he walks in the door. Maybe have the kids fed and bathed already, or make dinner during naptime so that the dishes are taken care of already.
8. Keep up with my exercising so that I stay healthy for my family. Setting a good example early on is important to me. Maybe they won't struggle as I do when they are older.
9. Try and be happier. Find the positive side of things.

Day 1
I finally did it. I've been meaning to for weeks. I've had a lot on my mind and have desired a place to composite all my thoughts and the never-ending lists of motherhood and life in general. So, here's to my new adventure in blog-dom. I don't care if anyone reads this, or if people find my writing simple. I just need a place to vent, a place to share creative thoughts, a place all to myself for a few minutes a day.
Today has been an emotional rollercoaster. Started out great with a special breakfast for my husband for Father's Day, followed by a trip with the kiddos to their cousins' house to play while I made cookies for a friend's sons' birthday party. Now we're home napping and getting rerady for the party, as well as for our first trip to the ball park with our sons. Should be interesting to see how long they last (they're 2.5 and 3 months old). Thankfully we live close to the stadium so we can jet home if needed.
Had a conversation with my husband that didn't go well, and am now trying to climb out of the hole I've been thrown in. Emotionally I don't want to attend the party or the game, but since I like to please others, I'll put on what I think is a smile and go along to both events.
Hoping for a more pleasant evening and day tomorrow. The weekends go so fast.
