Zoo day . . . and some creative tidbits

Today we trekked all over our local zoo with my husband's best friend's wife and kiddos, as well as my sister-in-law and kiddos. Three mommies and 7 kiddos, 8 if you count the one in the belly (friend's, not mine, not yet anyways). Had a fabulous time walking around and having a lunch on the grass. The weather was a little much for my liking, especially afterwards. I have a nice sunburn, here on the first day of summer! It's ifne though, it'll be gone soon. I hope the rain comes back to Washington, since that's the norm around here, or at least gray skies. I like the sun, but don't like being so warm. Poor Logan took 2 hours to fall asleep, he was so hot in the room. It doesn't help that our rooms face the setting sun, and the sun is out longer in the day now! Hopefully he'll get used to it soon!

I recently was added to the amazing world of Pinterest, and have fallen in love with so many creative things! Here's two of the ideas I've done so far. My son loves the knees on his monster jeans, but HATES wearing them! I am not a talented crafter so I think he can feel all the knots I had to tie while I hand-sewed the fabric. Oh well, they're still cute and it was fun. The link is: http://bymiek.blogspot.com/2010/10/dhz-monster-knie.html

Here's my little Lucas' jeans:

What do you think?

The second project I did from Pinterest: http://lets-explore.net/blog/2009/10/paint-bag-writing/

Lucas got to do this project with his grandma the other day. She then made bags for the other grandkids and brought them for her babysitting time with them. They loved them, and it's CLEAN!

Guess what? I have two more I would like to share that I've found. Sorry!

Third: http://impressyourkids.org/fathers-day-craft/

This was the Father's Day gift we made for our daddy this year. My mommy group came over and we made these last week. The kiddos are a bit young to do this yet, but it's still a great and QUICK project to do for anyone! Great for grandparents and aunts/uncles too! :) Birthday idea???

Here's what I made:

Lucas at three months

Logan at just 8 hours old

We tied them with yarn to finish them off.

I know these aren't the greatest pictures. I don't have a high-tech camera. Sorry! :)

Fourth and last, for tonight: All this one had was a picture, but just stick the uncooked pasta through the uncooked hot dogs, then boil the pasta as usual. Lucas loved it! :)  Here's the picture from Pinterest, and then mine.

Pretty cute, huh?

Well, off to get some rest before another day in the sun (so the weather man says). Taking Lucas and Logan to the beach to meet some friends for another picnic! :)
